It's totally crazy that I am 21 now and honestly, I'm a little scared to be getting so old. I know that seems like such a childish and first world problem, but it kind of is for me. Growing old, you have to face so much other problems and worries that you wouldn't have as a teenager. Teenagers always want to be older, and yet when one is older, we want to be young again.
Anyway, I didn't want to freak myself out so I just didn't think about the fact that I'm aging too much, and just enjoyed my day.
My day began at 12am, taking my first shot of Fireball. Did not like it. Way too cinnamon-y for me and it just burned. My BF took a hilarious video of me reacting to it.
Then it was time for bed!
When I woke up that morning, I spent the afternoon with my parents. We went to get Dim Sum at Oriental Flavor in Amherst and then we had a little bit of cake (which tasted terrible but I appreciated the thought!). After that we went to an International Asian Festival for about half an hour before going back to Smith.
My sister and I got our free birthday ice-cream (yes, we have the same birthday) and then I gave my parents a tour of Smith.
After, it was time to celebrate with my friends!
We ate at a restaurant called Spoleto in Northampton and it was a great little restaurant.
It was a nice meal and it was so great seeing all my friends there to celebrate with me.
Then, a couple of friends, my BF and I went to Tunnel Bar and Mama Iguana's.
Honestly, I learned that it wasn't necessarily the drink that mattered, but that I was spending that time talking to my friends, having a good time, and not worrying about the amount of homework I had to do the next day.
I was glad my birthday was on a Saturday.
I didn't have time to make my toast that has been circling in my heart for the past week. So I'm just going to type it here and hope you have been patient enough to read my blog post to here.
Thank you so much for everything.
For accepting me, loving me, listening to me, watching over me, and helping me when I need it.
I'm not one for sappy things but you will never know how happy I am to be the friends of you beautiful, smart, and wholesome human beings. I am one lucky girl, to call so many of you my close friends. You are all amazing, and I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to celebrate with me, laugh with me, and see me age another year.
I would not be who I am without all of you.
This birthday was hands down the best of every birthday I have ever had.
Because not only did I get to spend it with my family, I got to spend it with my boyfriend (and watch him get along with my parents), but also spend it with some of my closest friends that I know, and hope, will be my friends for the rest of my life.
I'm a lucky girl.
